the quiet sea began to hiss
the waves to toss and tumble
applauding the heavenly miracle
in the starlit heavens we saw
the first blush of light flood the sky
red beams and rays danced through the Milky Way
more subtle than any laser show
such beauty is only seen
once in our lifetime
it was the aurora australis
God was dancing in the South Pole
and walking across the sky
